Bagelista Sesame Bagel with Whipped Ricotta and Figs
Juicy figs sliced on top of a freshly baked bagel with pillowy clouds of whipped ricotta...need we say more? It’s never too late to join fig lovers like us--early fall means that the sweetest ones had a summer of constant sunshine and warm weather to ripen! This sweet treat is perfect for a quick snack, brunch, or breakfast any day of the week.
- 1 Bagelista Sesame Bagel
- 1 cup ricotta
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon picked thyme
- 4 fresh figs, sliced
- freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- STEP 1
Bake your bagel: Preheat the oven or toaster oven to 450° and bake your Bagelista bagel for 7-10 minutes or until golden brown to your liking. Watch closely as every oven is different and let it cool when done! For a lighter and softer bagel, bake for 7-8 min. For a darker and crispier bagel, bake 9-10 min. If using an air fryer, baking times will be reduced.
- STEP 2
While your bagel is baking, combine the ricotta, olive oil, and pepper in a medium bowl and whisk together until completely mixed. Wash the figs and cut them into thin slices.
- STEP 3
Once your bagel is ready, slice in half and spread the ricotta over each half. Top with sliced figs and drizzle with your favorite honey--we love lemon-infused honey here! Sprinkle thyme on top and enjoy!
- Pro Tip:
This whipped ricotta recipe is super versatile and can be customized using some of your favorite toppings like lemon zest, prosciutto, or jam. If you don’t have thyme, chopped rosemary is also delicious!
